Huge gas bill
We've just received a letter saying that after our annual usage review, EDF want to put our monthly direct debit up from £30 per month to £200 per month - surely this is extortionate?! The bill says we have used £444 worth of gas in a quarter - there's only 2 of us living in a 2 bed terraced house, so this seems really high! Can anyone else with a similar set up advise what they pay? Thanks.

Is this based on actual readings or estimates? If readings, what were they?0

You need to tell us your usage
They may want to increase it if you dont have much in reserves for the impending Winter0 -
From June to Sep it looks like we've used an average of 11.81 units a day. We haven't lived in the house long and we've just realised we think the water boiler may have been switched on the whole time :-(0

what I would adv is as edf are using your previous usage as a basis for your payment plan contact them on a month to month basis with meter reads and that way you will only be paying for your actual usage.0

Yeah, that's a good idea, thanks for that.0
