Has anyone used the pre app thingy from Braclays?

What score did you get and did you get approved?

I got 80-90% on the 19.9 gold card thingy but as I don't really need it, I didn't bother.

its a bit of a farce really as they use call credit for the pre-app checker and then Equifax or Experian when you actually apply.

They should give you a gauge with the credit reference agency they actually use when the application is made.

as you could get 80% or whatever for the pre-app and then you apply and get declined as your EQ or EX is dirty.

I would say, but iam sure it does work for lots of people who have continuity between there CRA files, but as we know lots of credit providers don't even share data with call credit so the % the pre app gives is inaccurate in the majority of applications made.

I know my details were entered correctly and that I am registered so it doesn't give me great confidence in the system.

I got pre-approved (80-90% chance of acceptance) for the Barclaycard Platinum.

Student (2nd year, so about 10k in debt I imagine so far-government backed)
Car loan (12.5k total incl interest)
Capital one 'Platinum' (£2500, I still don't get whats 'platinum' about it)
Natwest Credit Card (£500 limit, first card from when I was 18)
Paypal Credit Card (£1000, used to earn paypal vouchers for ebay).

They use Equifax for their pre-checker now. It's still useless.

LOL temptation got the better of me and I applied for the Gold thing.

Accepted

Now I can dump one of the low end cards.

I can confirm this. I did the pre-application check a week ago and just got my equifax report. It shows up as a quote search.
