WWYD? Item incorrect

Bought some headlights for our new car, they were advised for the make, model and yr of our vehicle, but when they came this morning, they are incorrect - paid a reasonable amt plus £23 postage (which was actully £14 but thats neither here nor there), I have advised seller that they don't fit - if I send them back, it's going to cost me the £14 post, so unless he refunds me my whole amount, I will have paid £37 post for something I've not got - if I go through paypal claim, would I get my original postage costs back too? Advice please!,thanks.

  • Item not as described you should get the amount back through a chargeback unless the seller empties his account frequentley.

Paypal will probably state you have to return at own expense, leaving you £14 out of pocket.

    Hope it helps

should I wait to see if he replies or start a chargeback now? I don't think it's deliberate, he has left feedback for me as soon as I paid and has 100% + FB but they were expensive so need to get my funds back as much as I can.

Could be there is an overlap in models for the year of manufacture.
Our car is like that. There is an old shape and a new shape both made in the same year.Ours is the old shape so we have to make sure we say so when telephoning about parts by mail order.

Always talk to seller first. Never start a claim or chargeback before giving the seller the chance to sort it out.

The mark of a great seller is how he deals with problems. It is very easy to sell when everything goes right.

ok, had a reply from seller stating he was selling them for a friend who has now moved abroad, he doesn't know anything about the lights, and if he finds anything out he will let me know - I don't want to know anything about them!! he said they would fit my car, they don't, I want a refund!, what next?
