How do I sell my life insurance policy?

I have heard that you can sell somewhere other than Standard Life for more than they will give you. Where do I start looking please? Thank you.

Persumably you have an endowment where there is an investment part and not jsut life insurance?

What is it invested in?
Is it with profits? or is it unitised?

With-profits you can sometimes sell for more money as they pay out terminal bonuses at the end.
Unitised policies are not worth anymore than the current value of the underlying investments/shares/funds, so no-one would be interested in paying more.

You first need to clarify what you have,

If it is a standard life endowment and not a pure term assurance then be wary that most Std Life plans have a mortgage endowment promise. It can range from very little or to tens of thousands of pounds. They only pay that amount out if held to maturity.
