Easyjet/Golf Clubs

Just wondering....Now on Easyjet it is £15 per flight for taking Golf Clubs onboard - When I go away my wife and I only have 1 piece of check-in luggage and I have my clubs (So technically they are my check-in luggage)
Has anybody recently tried to get there clubs on without paying in advance?
Just wondering if it is worth me chancing my luck on this.
Thanks in advance

From their website
'As items of sporting equipment are inherently unsuitable for carriage by airlines, easyJet is prepared to carry such items on a ‘limited release’ (i.e. entirely ‘at your own risk’ for damage or delay) basis. You may therefore wish to ensure that you have suitable private insurance cover in force for such items. The maximum weight for any single piece of baggage is 32 kgs.'
Do you want to risk it with your clubs?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
My travel insurance covers my Golf Clubs. The travel bag they are in is "Endorsered" by Airlines.
Just feel it is a bit unfair that I have to pay extra for a bag thats all0 -
Apart form anything else Golf Clubs are classed as "oversized baggage"
Use BA - They don't charge for Golf clubs. On a recent trip we found them around the same price as Easyjet. No scrum for seats and free food and drinks!0 -
Can't use BA - Fly Edinburgh to Belfast.......To do this with BA it is via Manchester.....!0
