    Hi,

I do not sell Utility Warehouse, I am just saying what I use and are very happy, I personally have not heard anything on the cashback I have had nothing in the post etc and I am sure if thats the deal I signed up for then I suspect that I should get it at end of the year as thats the sort of contract but again I don't know but I will check it out, and let you guys know

Does not matter anyway happy to pay £20 a year as I have saved that in my first two bills allready from my other providers so it does not matter.

What matters is that powergen will not let me swap my business electricitry to them, my annual bill is over £10k for electricity.

New user I may be but lurking for a year, just don't have too much time on my hands to post. But that is changing.

Have a great day and keep smiling, I am.

You will no doubt be aware that UW do not have any on-line tariffs for Gas or Electicity, just their standard tariffs. On-line tariffs are generally much cheaper and if you are spending 10k on electricity, you could could certainly find a better deal. Atllantic used to be very good for business customers and may be worth contacting.

As bendtoy points out, the cashback will cease after the next anniversary, unless you opt into the new multi-service gimmick to get free calls, in which case it will end straight away.

    Hi Guys,

Spoke to agent, says I still qualify for the £30 cashback and can change at anniversary next year, or can change in a couple of weeks when some new info comes out.

    Will wait and see.

The reason I had not changed electricity to UW or anybody else is powergen will not let me. Legalised crime. I set it up will UW but powergen said that I cannot swap to any new provider for another year.

    Still happy with UW.

    Keep smiling,

    EDIT

Your post is a little misleading as you say you will get £30 back per year.

    has been stopped.

Sorry, but your post (now mysteriously deleted - why did you delete it?) was misleading.

You actually told us that you would be getting £30 cashback "every" year.

In fact as has been pointed out to you now many times, the cashback scheme is stopped.

Existing members of the uw can transfer immediately from the cashback scheme and get some "free" calls instead, or remain in it until their next cashback is due when they will be removed from the cashback scheme.

Maybe you will find a cheaper alternative straightaway which will far outweigh the £30 you will have to hang on another year for. (That's because if you leave them within 3 months of getting a cashback payment they claw it back from you.) That's probably something else they never told you.

    Hi Quentin,

Thanks for post but like you spotted I am a new member and I have not deleted the post. Not sure its why its removed but then again I am a newbie you guys know more than me.(Hopefully)

I been in UW 3 months you said I would not be getting the cashback. I will THIS year. You are right I did say "Every year" but thats before I knew but again thats what I signed up fo, so technically I was correct its just they changed their end and customers like me not been informed yet but thats life.

I presume you were unhappy with UW, have a look at uswitch.com or something it may be able to help you.

Lifes great as a newbie.(Lets hope its not held against me)

    Keep smiling,

If you have only been with UW for 3 months, you will get you £30 cashback in 9 months time and must then stay a further 3 months or they will claw it back from you. So you still have to stay with them for 12 more months just to get £30 cashback. In that time you could have saved hundreds of pounds elsewhere, all it takes is a few phone calls or searches on websites.

Do it now, or you won't be smiling in 12 months time. _pale_

This sort of thing is nothing new for uw (who used to be telecomplus)

If you have a "friend" who works for them and tries to persuade you to sign up, don't until you've read all about them (there are lots of exposures of them on MSE - search for utility warehouse, telecom plus, t+ etc)

Just for the record, Utility Warehouse and TelecomPlus is one and the same.

Quentin is right that there is a lot of exposure for them, as there is with all the key players in the market. (search for talktalk, tiscali etc etc).

At the end of the day it is an individual choice and all providers have their supporters and denigrators.

The £50 disconnection charge is right, but how does this compare with other providers with 12 month and 18 month minimum contract terms?

Just to pick up richyrich7, the latest offers are currently only open to new customers, but existing customers will receive the information in the very near future and be given the option to move across to the better value packages.
