I've added the Rice Pudding, Slow Cooker Rice Pudding and the Slow Cooker Peach Cobbler recipes to the front page index. I've run out of space now, so will need to have a third post to the index.

Any preferences as to how I re-organise? are there any sections that you don't use that I could get rid of? all suggestions welcome, this is YOUR recipe index ;)

Rosieben - i`m another one who thinks that the index is fine just as it is, i use it an awful lot. Thinks are easy to find and its well organised.

A third page would probably be the best way of extending it and leaving all the sections as they are.

Would it be possible to add a couple of recipes please? These are two that i use quite a bit and always struggle to find so it would be good to know exactly where they are. Both are great recipes.

Another £15.20 on milk, chicken for the dog, and quorn from Lidl, which is £1 at the moment for a box of six sausages or a bag of pieces. We are off on "holiday" for the next couple of days, but I am taking food with me, and we won't be eating out except picnic as we will have the dog with us. I'll just be buying sweeties or ice cream I hope :D Off to make some muffins and biscuits to take with us.

  • Well NSD yesterday and assume will be the same today as I found out this morning as I went to take the kids to school, that my car has a completely flat battery. I used it last night & had no problems so not sure how that has happened overnight.

However if only Wednesday had been a NSD!

I spent £6 odd in Sainsburys. £7 Co Op, £17 Lidl, £7 Aldi and £15 in Farm Foods. I bought 2 lots of milk in Farm Foods but was a bit cross when I checked my receipt at home to realise that I had been charged for 3 so £1 extra. Nothing I can do about it now though.

Just thinking aloud - I will need to get some eggs at the weekend as DD is making blueberry muffins at school on Monday. I got the blueberries on Wednesday as a whoopsie for 50p so hoping they will still be ok for Monday!

Well done to everyone who is doing well so far this month.

Do you have a local Free-Cycle or equivalent? If so, try on there. I'm told this is one appliance a lot of people buy and then leave in the back of a cupboard !!

I haven't used mine often (hard to keep up when family devoured home-made bread at a rate of knots I never saw with shop bought.... so actually worked out a lot dearer :o), but plan to make regular use of it now I'm on my own -- or will do once I've worked my way through the two drawers worth of bread I currently have in my freezers rolleyes2.gif

Just back from shops, had to do a big shop but got lots of bargains and whoopsies. I went over budget by £15 this week, but took advantage of offers on things I normally buy so not too concerned. It will even out next week. The main bargain was a big box of Ferrero Rocher reduced from £7.99 to £2 in Mr A.:j They're short dated but that's ok - they wont last till the 15th in my house:rotfl:

Lidl had good offers on choc biscuits, cheese and Lurpak and P&enty kitchen roll.
Am happy cos my cupboards are full and I know what we're doing re meal plan for next week. Sigh of relief!;)
Next week is tha last shop so I will have to plan very carefully in order to come in under budget! £25 left till the 20th, I will do it!;)

I think I may try that, or even maybe Kn0rr, or would you say marig0ld and kall0 are superior to Kn0rr too? I don't mind if one is a little more expensive than the other, as I'm not using it all the time, and it's false economy to buy one that isn't going to give me a rich stock......which 0xo certainly haven't been doing. I think the stock granules produce an even more wishy-washy stock than the cubes, if that's possible......sometimes you find yourself using ingredients because your Mum used to, don't you? Or is that just me :D

No, I've done that for years!:o Thanks for the discussion re stock cubes - I use Oxo or sm veg and Chicken cubes, and lately I've benn thinking my soups have been a bit lack lustre - now I know why! Have put Marigold on my list for next week.:)

Small shop which had to be W/rose, but on checking prices for what we needed it was the same or cheaper than MrT.
Bread flour & 2 kinds of brown sugar, yeast plus lge milk as we'll have OH's boys, and a cabbage - though somehow OH added a big bag of peanuts:)
I've no idea really about our budget, since I just guessed for the month, so I'm seeing how it goes.

I have liked having the meal plan, which finishes tonight. Haven't started another yet as it much depends on whether OH can get to the Coop and if they have the £3 chickens. No chicken at all in the freezer which is not good. Also it's the monthly small farmers market tomorrow so if he doesn't get any, I'll go there but will decide what to get beforehand.
There is an enormous bacon hock in the fridge which will definitely figure for several days;)
