I spent a whopping £1.30 on milk today. I could have picked up the milk cheaper at Morrisons but knew I would spend more money if I went there so just nipped to the corner shop.
I still have £112.74 left from my £170 budget for November. I went to Costco at the weekend and stocked up on some bargains, but made sure to split some of them with my friend so I didn't have to spend too much. I was also really good too - I bought fajita kits on what I thought was multibuy (2 for £4) but they had been put on the wrong shelf so cost me £7.34 for the two :eek: I did something I wouldn't have done even a month or two ago - I took them back and got a refund0 -
ok im declaring £303.07. Think i need to up my budget more as i think ive been setting it too low. Will try 250 for Nov and see how i get on, if i come in way over again then im going to be upping it.I will lose 2 stone by this summer!!!!!!0

I'm going to catch up with the posts i have missed on this thread, but before i do, just want to mention that i haven't purchased anything for a few days, let alone food. It has been all go here at the moment and i desperately want to make a food cupboard and freezer inventory. I also want to clear up some freezer space so i can make in advance, the homebaked bread loaves and muffins for my Churches Christmas Fair which is being held next month. Ideally i would do it all the day before but i might not be up to it or may not have the opportunity so i want to get some made just in case...and i feel like having a baking day...haven;t had chance for a while, or when i have had chance, i've not felt up to it.
Rightio, off to catch up on the posts in this thread. Evening all!Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

By the way - I think we could all do with remembering, that while we're all trying to bring out months in on budget, food is constantly on the rise, so I think we're all doing a ruddy marvellous job
And have you seen the price of eggs in the sm's?!! They've like doubled in price, if not more :eek:Aug11 £193.29/£240

I know! It's well annoying!0 -
End of the month in this house, so I am declaring with £321.73 :j. Under budget but I would like to drop it more. But with personal circumstances November is not the month to do that, probably not December either :rotfl:. I will take the opportunity to get accustomed to a smaller budget and these good habits! Can you good ladies put me down for £350 for November and I thought I'd try 10 NSD's as well! I would like to get to £300 but don't want to run before I can walk.
Hippechiq and CupOfChai I agree, with keeping to a budget and prices increasing it is a lot of effort to tread water. I raise a glass and toast Necessity, the Mother of Invention .0 -

Well i`ve definitely blown it this month
By just how much i`m not sure yet so i`ll sit down and work it out later, one of the books that i`d ordered arrived and i really wanted to try a recipe from it whilst i had a day off work so i went out and bought the ingredients
Never mind - it was really worth it and it didn`t cost as much as i expected. I also bought some wine making bits and bobs whilst i was out, i don`t normally include these in the budget but i`m wondering whether or not to start. They don`t have a budget and i just buy the ingredients with what ever is left in the bank at the end of the month.
I`ll sit down and work out the damage later.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
My 7 grandchildren love it .One of my DGS Henry asked his 'Auntie Shelly (my DD) if she was going to have a 'buffulo' again this year (he meant a buffet of course) and she said of course she was and he beamed at her and said 'Oh thats cool we really like coming to your house as we get to play lots of acting games .
That's brilliant! Maybe we should all have "buffulos":D this Christmas - sounds like jolly good fun!:rotfl:
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0
