Which bank is best for perks

I am looking to find a bank with perks for 5 star travel insurance & top breakdown cover, not fussed about mobile phone cover as mine is just a cheapie. I am currently with Natwest but their breakdown cover is basic. Thanks
Comping from May 2012 :D

Thank you to all that post & contribute, I think you are wonderful, I could not achieve without your help :)

I've just opened a halifax reward current account and the breakdown cover is only the basic one (ie doesn't cover you within 1/4 mile of your home etc), they want £105 to upgrade me to the full package - but if i buy the full package online as a separate thing its £99!! The barclays additions active account includes the full breakdown cover but the montly fee for the account is £15/month (ie double what the halifax is).

Santander is great for bad customer service, making mistakes with your account and generally upsetting its customers. :(
Santander are awful - mission in life is to warn people since 17-Sep-10, 18-Sep-10 realised one of thousands.

If you opened a standard Halifax Reward account and picked up your own full breakdown cover and deluxe travel insurance policies then you'd be looking at a total cost of around £100, subsidised by £5 a month from Halifax. That brings it down to an annual cost in the region of £40. I don't think any packaged accounts would compete with that.

My mother became a Santander member by default as Abbey,B&B and A&L were absorbed by the Spanish giant. Her reward for placing £23000 was the distress of retrieving the three cheques which were sent to a previous address(of 12 months previous) despite being provided with details of her revised address and a clear instruction tosend to the new one.We are now applying for a Data subject access request which will reveal many errors and allow her to see what information the group hold about her.Banks seem very wary of this and it is a valued tool for putting together a case for reference to FSA.By the way the bank has made no offer of goodwill etc. despite their crass error!

llyods is the best, they have travel insurance and AA cover, ive got a premier account which gives me top class AA including a thing where they pay for a hotel if your stuck away from home
  • Should I report the "santander reward account" as spam?
  • They give you £100 within 6 months if you open a current account however you must put at least £1000 into account every month and if you have less than £500 in the account they charge you a "£5 Account maintainence fee". Tried to close my account but was told by an aggressive bank manager (Frederick Street Edinburgh) that because the latest charge was pending I could not close the bank account! - will have to wait until it is imposed by that time I will have incurred more charges! Avoid this Bank as it has underhand bank charges and practices!
Sorry for this rant and the straying from the original question, but I am still fuming!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:
