As a seller I don't list anything as eBay is flooded with stuff for sale and prices go down.
As a buyer there's plenty of bargains but you have to wade through pages and pages of tat to find them.
And what's up with these folks that immediately put stuff on at one minute past midnight on a Friday?
Are that desperate to save 10p?
Jeez you've got all weekend.
Get a life!

Oh dear - i'm one of those people who listed last night after midnight.
As it happens I listed a couple of items over the £30 mark so actually saved a few quid. Yes some people do have a life - i'll be out all saturday evening and usually busy on Sunday nights (bearing in mind items that end in the evening tend to sell for more than those that end in the day). My items now end on a midweek evening. I guess if you're selling 'cheap stuff' then it will get mixed in with all the other 'cheap stuff'. Personally the odd few things I list always sell brilliantly on a free listing weekend.

Hi All !
Yep, free listing may get quite a bit of tat onto ebay - but you can still sell stuff at a reasonable price despite this. And its great for me as a buyer as some things get listed that people are desperate to shift - DVDs and computer games are great at these times.
I don't notice tat putting people off going to car boot sales - and they are almost 100% tat at times !

I'm another one who makes good use of a free listing day. I simply relist everything unsold previously and list anything that I am unsure of demand, at the minimum price I would be prepared to see it go for. Sometimes it works well, sometimes not, but it's cost me nothing to find out.

If I am listing an item for £150 in a couple of categories, I'll save a couple of quid in listing fees and will have lost nothing if it doesn't sell. I've found most things sell eventually, although it might take a few attempts on several free listing days.

It's a double edge sword in a way...
As a buyer (seller even) it annoys me when I plan my auctions to finish on a Sunday, post them on a Thu and a few hours later I find out there is a free weekend coming up (I now do 1 week on a Sun, no longer 10days on a Thu...)
On the other hand I've had great bargains during free weekends, lovely stuff, very cheap.0 -
I agree, since free listing days are there, we may as well take advantage of them - either to buy or sell - or both.terra_ferma wrote: »On the other hand I've had great bargains during free weekends, lovely stuff, very cheap.

I agree!
We've sold enough to cover the cost of DD's wedding dress & 3 bridesmaid's dresses (all found on E-Bay themselves
) over the last 2 free-listings weekends :T
Just listing a few more things to cover bridesmaid dress 4 as I speak!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
I love free listing weekends and do just as porto bello does. Ebay and then Paypal fees can take such a chunk of your profit, any chance to save on ebay is a blessing. On that note I had better upload the pictures and prepare the listings for tonight!0

If you have a chance I'd start listing now rather than wait. As you can't use turbolister you are relying on the ebay system and i've listed a couple of things and it is slower than usual with photos taking a while to upload. I think it may well get a lot worse by this evening when everyone sits down to list.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
