I have the following installed:
Avira
Malwarebites
Adaware
Spybot
Superantispy
As they all take around two and a half hours to scan, I was wondering which is the best one to use for regular scanning.
I do apreciate that Avira is different than all the others as it's antivirus not spyware/malware.

Avira for viruses and Malwarebytes for malware, just make sure you update them regularly before scanning.
I would ditch Adaware as it's to bloaty theses days, used to be good in the early days but not so much now.0 -
I would agree with fiddiweb - stick with avira and malwarebytes. I'd also remove (uninstall from control panel) all the others.0

Id uninstall ADAWARE as its next to useless
As above ~ AVIRA and MALWAREBYTES to scan with (monthly or whatever)
Use SPYBOTS 'Immunise feature' (And remember to manually update, same with malwarebytes)
Id stop SAS from starting with windows and just have it on hand in case you feel somethings on the computer the others have missed:idea:0 -

I don't go to risky sites (or I don't think so) but I have been running most of the above weekly. Is once a month considered adequate in normal use. So far no scan hase found anything at all, although I do let Ccleaner run at startup so minimising cookies etc. And, Adaware a definate for removal???
I wouldnt touch ADAWARE with a bargepole these days
Run as many scans as you like
But running them slows your computer down if your using it at the time, and it definitely adds wear to hardrives (Meaning their overall 'life' will be shortened)
If you believe your computers infected then scan with everything. If anythings found then keep updating and scanning weekly to make sure its gone (Or come on here and we can help)
If your not finding anything, I see no point in scanning all the time
That said. As careful as you are, if you visit an infected website (And so your aware, this site 'could' get hacked and a virus implanted) if your not using something like NOSCRIPT then you could end up killing your computer as youll be none the wiser:idea:0 -
I am also running PCtools Firewall Plus and Threatfire at startup, are they OK?Change is here to stay0

You have a lot of security software/programmes running on your machine there.
I'm surprised you are not having conflicts between what you have on and also with that amount it will certainly slow your pc/laptop down.
I just use Avira antivir & Malwarebytes updated on a regular basis, Windows firewall (& also the firewall in my router/modem) , windows updates and secunia OSI update scan for adobe, java etc.0
