Switching from EDF- final bill problem

Of course it is correct. If you cancel the debit, you do not get the debit rate.0

But I cancelled the direct debit when I was no longer a customer of theirs.0

You owe them money for energy you consumed whilst they were supplying.
As you didn't allow them to collect that from you via Direct Debit, of course you can't expect any DD discount on that amount you owe.
You should only cancel a DDI after the supplier has sent you a final bill and collected that amount. Usually the DDI is cancelled then anyway because the supplier processes the transaction as a 'final' collection."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Thanks Premier- I didn't have the funds to cover the final bills being direct debited, didn't realise it would affect the actual bill- not much difference anyway!0
