Ditto - HSBC have had this option in internet banking for quite a while as well..
The latest edition of Money Box (18:02 onwards) also gives details of some Metro bank customers who have had problems using their cards overseas.
As always, its best practice to take cards from more than one provider when going overseas to avoid being caught out like this.

Well I'm just back after 2 weeks in France, and had no problems using my Santander Zero, PO or Nationwide credit cards, or Nationwide debit. Perhaps if I'd crossed over into Belgium or elsewhere it might have triggered something (but have used my Nationwide card in several other European countried including Sweden). But I also checked all cards on-line everyday as well. Presumably they look at past spending patterns, or maybe I'm just lucky!0
