  • Wowsers tis a headscratcher and to be honest some of those are open to interpretation such as Mullholland drive vs Sunset Boulevard and the Bond movie. I also thought that the movie 'The Conversation' could have been just before 'Hidden' but then I ended up with too many movies!

Similarly, the moustache on it's own before Dr Zhivago made me think of the Pink Panther or Poirot but not any one iconic movie. You could drive yourself mad with this one!! The lightning on the crucifix feels as if it should be significant too. I don't recall a scene like that in the Omen though?!

I've just bitten the bullet and sent mine in and this is what I went with. Thanks everyone for submitting lists and opinions, this was a proper team effort!

    1. James Bond - Dr No ( made me think of Andress in bikini shot)
    2. Edward Scissorhands
    3. Dr Zhivago
    4. Up
    5. Life of Brian ( music score)
6 The Godfather ( blood and score)
    7 The usual suspects
    8 The birds
9 Raising Arizona ( burn marks down road from biker in movie if memory serves me well?)
    10. The Big Lebowski ( though dude where's my car came to mind too, but bowling is Lebowski classic scene)
11.Raider of the Lost Ark ( torch and cannonball iconic scene)
    12. Delicatessen
    13. Airplane ( though Honeymoon in vegas with flying elvis in stripes came to mind too)
    14. One Million Years B.C.
    15. The Shawshank Redemption
    16. Hidden
    17.Mullholland Drive
    18. American Beauty
    19. The Blair Witch Project
20 The Matrix ( again thought of Human Traffic but the blue pill vs red pill is 100% Matrix)
    21. Pan's Labyrinth
    22. Singing in the Rain
    23. Ben Hur
    24. Silence of the Lambs ( masks and moths)
    25 Borat
    26. Groundhog Day

Good luck everyone. Would be awesome if someone off the forum won with this one. The comments on the Guardian site were pretty churlish in truth.. x
  • Damn, though they're using creative licence and it's not a crucifix. The Omen might be in there after all!

It's a church spire that lightning knocks off to kill the priest..

But if that one is in, which one is out?!:o
