my french friend says she cannot open a bank

account as she has no passeport just ID card. also she is renting and has no utiliites in her name. any tips?

An ID card for a EU country is fine - this would be her ID - if she is renting a copy of the tenancy agreement should be ok for address confirmation.
The problem she might have is bank staff thinking there is no sales opportunity for me here so will try and fob her off somewhere else. Tell her to persevere.0 -

My old french housemate only had an ID card and she went with Barclays, in fact the Italian girl we lived with went with Barclays too. Seems to be her best option really.0
