For a few hours the other night i wasn't able to log on to my FB page, well things must have sorted themselves out and everything seems now to be Ok, but last night i received a message to say they've had problems and i should change my password when i log on.
Does anyone know is this genuine, do we all need to do new passwords.

I'd double check that you are going through facebook.com.

How is it asking you to reset your password if its by email its a scam.

Someone i was speaking to last night got a message from one of her friends to say FB had asked the Bbc to get the news out to as many as possible quickly, to change passwords when they log on.
I've just been reading Bbc/click and although they talk about the breakdown there's no mention of passwords.

As Simon says if you have to change your password do not do it through a link in an email you may have received.

Always go to the website itself and do it that way.
