Deleted Partition

The low down is I've done something really stupid and deleted the partition(s) on my external hard disk.
I was reinstalling XP to my PC as it was running real slow so backed up everything to the external HD then went ahead with installing XP. As part of this process I deleted the partition on the hard disk, but as my external HD was still plugged into the USB I managed to select and delete that one as well.
OR at least I think that is what has happened as I can't view the external hard disk through explorer.
Does anyone know of a good program that can recover the partition or is it worth me heading down to the local PC world to get them to do it?

If you are talking about the format partition screen during windows install, I doubt you'd be able to see a usb partition to delete at that stage.
make sure you have installed all the drivers for your machine in device manager.!!
