Deposit on Car from Dealer

On Tuesday i put a £200 deposit on a £4000 car at a dealership using my credit card. The delivery date for the car was supposed to be this Saturday but there is apparantly an issue with the car that they are unable to resolve in time.
I have since seen another car that i am interested in elsewhere am i within my rights to demand that the £200 be refunded? Trouble is the dealership is about 120 miles away so if it ends up i some sort of dispute it will be difficult to sort it face to face.
I'm just wondering what my rights are. The documentation says the deposit is non refundable but they are unable to honour their delivery date so are in breach of their contract???
Can any experts help me out?
Thx, Matt

"am i within my rights to demand that the £200 be refunded?"
No your not, you dont have any rights to get the deposit back, Maybe the car dealer will give it back as a goodwill gesture. But with a attiude like demanding you have no chance.0 -
Ok demanding was the wrong phrase to use, i didnt actually mean it like that.
I wondered if i had a legal right to the money back as they are in breach of their contract having missed the delivery date.0 -
Ok then could they force me to buy the car if i told them i no longer wanted it? Or would i just lose the deposit and that would be the end of it?0

No they cant enforce you to buy the car the deposit is just to secure the car for a certain time so they cant sell it. But you will find it hard getting a refund on a deposit specialy from a garage. You could try bringing up the late delivery issue.0
