Music Qualifications

Options
Hi peoples.
I am filling out the gttr form and I was wondering if you can put music qualifications under other relevant qualifications. I have a g5 distinction in singing from ABRSM and some other music qualifications.
They are mentioned in my personal statement :O)

Yes, if they are relevant. Are you applying to do a PGCE in Music?

I can't remember if I put mine on the GTTR form. I must have done, but thinking back, I'm not sure!

Put them down even if they aren't relevant to your course - it's value-add and they love all that on ITT applications ;)

If you can fit it on there - put it on there!

  • Are you applying for primary or secondary? They're definitely applicable for primary, but if there's space to put them in for secondary, then every extra thing you can offer a school will help in some way :)

  • would it be worth putting in something really basic like grade one/grade two in a few instruments for a secondary pgce in english? im thinking they're not really relevent or add any value to my application but if anyone whos been and done it think it'd be worth it i'd love to know :)
  • I'm going for Primary so think I will add them. I have grade 5 singing, Grade D Prepatory Piano, Grade 1A theory.

That will definately be relevant for Primary teaching. Put them down! There aren't enough people with musical skills in Primary.
  • Have done. Wish the piano and theory were newer but unfortunatly I did them before I joined university and moved away from home so I stopped my lessons. I can't afford them right now.

The grade 5 singing however I am most proud of as i got a distinction
