Egypt tablets question

Hi - wonder if anyone can help me please. Going to Sharm in a few weeks time and i'm looking for the name of the tablets that you take if you have an upset stomach in Egypt. I'm aware that there are 2 different kinds - green ones for tummy cramps and yellow capsules for the runs. Friend going to Cairo, so they can get them cheaper there, as I've heard they can be quite expensive in Sharm. Thanks in advance for your help:o

Might be an idea to buy them here to take with you, I'm sure your pharmacist will be able to advise you. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

Thanks for that advice, but I've heard that tablets from here don't work - you need to buy the special tablets from over there.0

From the UK - Imodium for the runs and Colofac for the cramps. Experience says they work!0

I'd second that these do work and to be honest it's better to go prepared than have to run about looking for medication when you get there.
You can be sure of what your'e taking too if you get them from here off the chemist too.0 -
Immodium should only be used if you have to travel and can't get to a loo. If you use it then remember it's keeping in your body the poisons your body is trying to get rid off and that by doing so you increase your chances of becoming really ill. Immodium should only be used as a last resort if you have no other options. Otherwise just sit on the loo with a good book & an unlimited supply of fruit juicesMRSTITTLEMOUSE wrote: »I'd second that these do work and to be honest it's better to go prepared than have to run about looking for medication when you get there.0 -
Antinal is what you need.
You will be able to get them in Sharm for 10LE (just over £1) per pack of 12.
(although the pharmacy will prob try to charge you more!)0 -

And be wary who you ask for directions (to the pharmacist) they'll want a tip (baksheesh)!!I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -

Thanks for that PC10 - on reading reviews on trip advisor, someone mentioned that there were 2 different types - do you think that all we will need to get is Antinal?0 -
We got ours from the visiting doctor. The rep warned about problems with airborne bugs and as a precaution I got some from him in advance. Didn't want to be running around at 4 in the morning. You are right there are two packets of different colours and each does a different thing.
The rep said that uk remedies don't work.
anyhow, we did need them and only had mild symptoms. The Cabbage

Thank you - I would like to get them in advance, as I don't want to be 'caught short' and having to look for a pharmacist, as I will be on my own with my 2 children. So - does anyone know the name of the 2 different coloured packets? Thanks0
