  • DD (1yo) is def a daddy's girl. It doesn't bother me at all as I spend most time with her so it's really nice for him when she's excited to see him. The only time it can cause a problem is when DH needs to go to work and she's a bit clingy (only really when she's not feeling well) then he goes away feeling guilty. However, whenever I go to work she's delighted to see Granny and I get to leave guilt free:j Now I just need to convince DH that DD really, really wants to be put to bed by him.....

my 3yo dd is truly a daddy's girl and i don't mind a bit !... her first word was daddy and the best bit it is that when she has nightmares or cant sleep at night,, the person she shouts for and wants conform is daddy:D.. i always tell him that i have done all of that when she was born and now it is his turn.

He is a nannys and grandpas girl too.. can not wait to see them and ask to phone them everyday despite them living 15 min from my house and seeing them every other day or 2 at max.

Mind you i would like to have a little boy , as they seems to have a special bond with their mummy.

  • We're a bit cliche here and have a daddy's girl and a mummy's boy :)

  • same here my DD2 loves her dad to bits and cries when he goes to work, but waves me off with a smile! My son however, is definately a mummys girl (even if he wouldn't admit it).

Now I know it's not personal but I think I will be really miffed if she is a Daddy's girl, I waited so long for another baby and I want her to have no preference, irrational I know but there it is!
I had the exact opposite response. Our boys have both gone through periods of prefering to be with me or prefering to be with their daddy.

Our eldest was a daddy's boy for the first few years and I was delighted.

I waited a LONG time to finally decide to get married and have a family with someone. One thing that was important to me was that I wanted a man who would make a great father. And boy, is he! He's a fantastic dad and a fantastic husband.

So when my kids go to him, ask for him to read their bedtime story, want him to take them to the library or park, I feel wonderful about it. They got exactly what I wanted for them. :j:j:j

You gave your kids that. ;) Does that help?

We joke around with our two girls and ask who they love the best, they say both of us. But I do think that they favour DH over me a bit. Im just happy for them to have a good relationship with him. My DS who is nearly 15 I think in his own teenage way favours me, not that he would say. I do think the kids spend a lot more time with me so any time spend with DH is special, Im at SAHM and he works fulltime. :-)

I have two girls , ages 17 and 14.....both are full on daddies girls !

They are inseperable and always have been lol.

Now our son...he is an entirely different story.....he's MY boy....i have a very special bond with him . Not many 12 year olds still want a cuddle off mum but he does (just not when his pals are aroung lol)

I have a daughter who use to be a daddys girl until she saw him beat me:eek: something I'll regret her seeing till the day I die. However I have 4 boys whos ages range from nearly 14 to 17 and they are all "mummys boys" each of them all give me a kiss when they go to school and when they go to bed even if they have friends round. Each give me a hug for no reason .They are the most loving boys I have ever known. My sisters children are all daddys girls and it is so obvious to everyone. They never go to her for a kiss or when they are hurt or anything.I think this could be because they did a role reversal and he became a stay at home dad as her wage was so much better than his.(this is no reflection on mums who work, :))

  • Our 17 year old is a very affectionate girl.....although she adores her dad she is also quick with her kisses and cuddles from me too. When we are out together she will alsways give me a kiss and hug as we part , regardless of who is watching....

The 14 year old however is a whole different story....some days i find it hard to believe that she LIKES me let alone LOVES me !

She is at that "awkward" (i can think of better words for it lol) stage where no-matter what i say i am wrong ! Daddy however is NEVER wrong...daddy is kind , daddy gives her everything she wants...daddy is the bee's knee's...you get the drift. With me i just get the occassional "growl" when she wants something lol

Isnt it funny how kids from one family all have different attitudes ?
