Im not sure what to make of this. My house is shared ownership and in January I put the property on the market to sell my 50% share for £75k. In July I accepted an offer for the full ammount. It is now late september and my buyer has only just been accpeted by the housing association and i am waiting for his mortage provider to arrange the survey. I have been told by the estate agent he only neeeds a small mortage so there should not be any futher problems.
BUT.. a house 2 doors away from me has just gone up for sale for £69,950 for 50%. I am now worried my buyer will try to drop the price of mine. The problem is I need the full £75 to repay my mortage and moving costs. So to be honest im sure what I will do if he does ask me to drop.
I would love to know what peoples thoughts are. Thank you for reading this

I'm afraid you are in for a nervous time until you exchange!
If your house is similar then if your buyer sees it they will certainly try and knock you down - they would be mad not to...
But if you can't drop your price then there is not much you can do...0 -
Do you know the neighbouring property?
Can you justify the price difference (if you have to)?IANAL etc.0 -
Ah but your house was recently redecorated and has a new kitchen whereas the one down the road......0

If I was the buyer I'd arrange a quick viewing of the cheaper property to find out for myself..."One thing that is different, and has changed here, is the self-absorption, not just greed. Everybody is in a hurry now and there is a 'the rules don't apply to me' sort of thing." - Bill Bryson0
