I'm not entirely sure, but I believe that if any organisation has written information about you on record, you have the right to obtain a copy of it under the data protection act (some info here). Most organisations charge £10ish to provide the information.

Of course, if they have binned your rejected application, there may be nothing to provide.

May not apply under Jersey laws, they are entirely seperate from UK law, own Parliament etc

So to summerise: I am no longer able to do business in the UK because I am British yet choose to live abroad. For all intensive purposes, in the eyes of the banks of the British Isles, I am a criminal.

Long love the EU where its people have the right of free movement, but only on holiday: Reside in your member state or else.

You applied for an account in Jersey.
Jersey is not part of the UK nor is it a member of the EU.

Jersey appears to have similar laws to the UK

The original poster should read this leaflet which details how to make a SAR under Jersey legislation.

To everyone who has responded, I thank-you.

    1) I have sent a Subject Access Request to the building society. !Thank-you noh.!
    2) Duly noted that the Channel Is., are not in the UK nor within the EU.
    3) Yes, I was unfair when I wrote that I was treated like a criminal. I let off some steam. I think I was well-behaved although a little silly!;)

    Once more thank-you. G.
