Of course - you either buy two policies or have one policy with two cars on it.

However, if the question you are really asking, is can you use one lot of bonus on two cars, then the answer is that usually you would need to earn bonus on each one, albeit some insurers may allow a starter on the second vehicle, particularly if each policy is you as the only driver or you/your partner.

If you are are explaining "comprehensive" as "any driver" then insurers will require details of all drivers, together with the main driver details and if there is a young driver involved then they will rate at least one of the vehicles on this driver.
  • I've used Swiftcover for several years now, because in my opinion they are the best value. If you insure a second car with them, they will give you a discounted separate policy that is virtually as cheap as having full no claims on it. Excellent stuff.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, this is the key point.

I happen to insure both our cars. However, they are fully aware which one I 'mainly' drive and which one my wife 'mainly' drives, and we are the only two drivers named on each car.

But don't even think about 'stretching the truth' as to who is the main driver of each car. Not only is it criminal, it effectively means you have no insurance and are wasting your money.
