Can ETFs collapse?

  • All ETF charge you for the privilege, its like 1% per year split up. On top of that the firm probably makes some sort of profit from the actual dealing, complicated arbitrage stuff. Market makers skim money by merely creating a market I think, legally it creates an average profit for them

A good thing about ETF and probably the most important reason to use them is they dont cost share duty for each purchase so you save 0.5% each time. Im too poor to care so much but it does add up and promotes short term dealing in large amounts

Bloomberg last Friday iirc had a piece about this.
The consensus was that yes ETFs could collapse and some may well in the short term.
Think I've got that right as I was eating my toast at the time.
It's your money. Except if it's the governments.
