Glue to fix plastic petrol cap

Thought it best to post this is diy rather than carsection.
Snaped patrol cap on the arm where it joins the car, what's best to Stick it together? Superglue is not strong enough, tried a two part glue but I cant hold it for an hour till it dries!

Araldite rapid.Would dry hard in 30 mins , still too long to hold. Stuff a towel in petrol filler cap hole. balance cap on towel.0

I'm surprised superglue isn't strong enough. Are you sure you cleaned and degreased the join properly?
Araldite Rapide should work. You can speed up the setting time by heating it with a hair drier. Just don't blow yourself up!0
