At least it appears this was a prank rather than an act of cruelty, they deliberately missed the area round the animal's eyes, mouth etc.
I remember watching a magic show in the Edinburgh Playhouse years ago that involved brightly coloured poodles, they were dyed green, yellow, pink etc etc. Nothing was ever said. One of the poodles died during a show though, I remember it being in the news the next day.Herman - MP for all!

I'm sure when I was (a lot) younger you quite often used to see pink and blue poodles, then again you never see old ladies with blue or pink rinses any more either :rotfl:
It does look rather cute!I wish I would take my own advice!0 -
I have to say that I think the RSPCA are over reacting on the dye thing. It's non toxic, the eye and mouth area has been avoided and I'm sure that the cat doesn't give a monkey's that he's pink. I'm sure it hated being washed more! It'll grow out. It's worse that it was chucked over a fence. I just hope his owner is found0

Not so long ago (maybe 10 years) there was a doggy "beautician" across the road from where we lived. We often saw poodles coming out dyed all colours, so I just assumed it was an allowed thing. Seems not now.
It's only a game

Personally, I think this is hideous, but then again, I dont agree with dressing little dogs in the latest "fashions" either. Let them be their natural beautiful selves.
Hope they catch the abandoner!:mad:0 -
Haha the colouring is actually quite funny. There's not really much to cry about with that...okay the cat probably didn't have too much fun when they were dying it but I wouldn't say it's cruel.
The abandoning of the cat is cruel. I think it's obvious the BBC have printed this story because most people are going to read it and laugh.0 -
Maybe it's not abandoned; maybe it was the owners who foolishly dyed the cat but now are scared to come forward because of the huge fuss it's caused. I mean there'll be a facebook calling for them to be killed before you know it.
I too thought the RSPCA were a bit over the top with this one!0 -

Of course it's cruel - how do you imagine they applied the dye? Did they care whether there might be an allergic reaction? Did they ensure the dye wasn't toxic (bearing in mind that cats groom themselves)? How scared must the animal have been?
Anyone that thinks this is OK should seriously take a look at their attitude towards animals - they are not fashion accessories nor objects of amusement :mad::mad:.:hello:0 -
