Open University Course Grant - Timing?

I'm begining an BSc in Computing and Systems Practice with the Open University from the begining of October.
I will be studying 90 points this year, with 3 30 point modules. I was eligible for Financial Support for several reasons, and had all my courses paid for me. (Well, £1200 or so I think they paid for, all I remember is that I had to cover £5 that went over the funding!
)
So I'm eligible for the Course Grant, and I assume that having already got Financial Support that it will be paid to me automatically. Will that be on the date the course starts, at the end of the course? Is there a specific timing?
The only reason I ask, is that there's some books I'd love to get - yet I can't afford them at the moment! Just at the moment there's a loads of discounts around as well, and I'm sorting out my NUS Extra card too.
If anyone has been through the process and can shed a little light on this, I would be very grateful!
Thanks!

Its normally 3 weeks after the start, i get the course grant and my course starts in novemeber(recived the books now!) and its 3 weeks. If you need them, buy them on credit , then pay off, or get a crisis loan, but if you only want them, wait. To be honest, the books are pretty good, goodluck0

Ah, thankyou!
Yeah, I've got the course books now and they look really good - I've already browsed them! I'm definitely happy with the quality of books that they provide, and for it to be included with the course is awesome.
I don't need the books really, it's just for comfort really - I do enjoy reading and figured I could never have to many relevant books to browse!
Good luck with your study!0 -
If you get the grant, get them when it comes through. Like i said the course books are good, But i understand the comfort things, If you do a 30+course and your income is under 10,000 i think you get 1000 course fee ... good luck0
