European single trip breakdown cover for a 12-seater minibus
Hi
Does anyone know of a company other than the RAC/AA that would offer European breakdown cover for a single 3-day trip to Germany?
The AA has quoted me £120- and the RAC £60- but they both seem a lot of money for what is a reasonable short and straight-forward trip in a brand new vehicle. I appreciate there will be a certain premium as it's a minibus and a little unusual, but I'm equally sure there must be something a little cheaper out there
Cheers
Mike

Hi,
there are a couple of sites that I have seen that seem to offer that cover & a lot cheaper! :
http://www.europeanbreakdowncover.com
&
http://www.europebreakdowncover.co.uk
you can download their policy documents on their site. One of the policies says the restrictions are :
Does not exceed (including any load carried) the
following gross vehicle weight and dimensions:
3,500kg in weight, 8m in length, 3m in height and
2.25m in width.
I suspect the 12 seater will comply with this ? Hope this is of use. Check all the insurance details to make sure they do not fobb you off on the level of cover in order to offer a cheaper price. This is a usual trick with travel insurance...e.t.c.0 -
As it’s new I’d have thought the manufacturers would provide a certain amount of cover so maybe worth looking that (with apologies if you already have)0
