Hi Everyone, could someone help me with what to do following my last week at work ( ending next week? ) after I have signed a compromised agreement following redundancy at work?
What should I do in regards to receive national insurance contribution and some benefits ( if any )? I currently have some savings due to me from my compromised agreement of 18K ( last 4 months of wages will be paid in one go tax free on the 1st of October 2010 ) so I understand I can not claim for any benefits - council tax rebate - ?
also I am planning to go to re-train myself in india for 2-3 months as I am short on some IT certifications, how will this affect my UK un-employment status ? I am planning to go mid november and will be financing my own studies abroad.
I have no idea where to start as I have been working for the last 10 years.
yes I have some savings due to me but I also have a mortgage ( sharedownership ) and pay monthly rent + council taxes.
Any help would be really appreciated.

you should be entitled to contributions based Jobseeker's allowance; your savings/redundancy don't affect that, as long as you've been paying class 1 (employee) NI contributions between April 07-09. You cannot get JSA if you go abroad to study, though.0
