I occasionally have cause to use my local rail station (london midland trains) but avoid parking when I can.

I was there this a.m and cursing the park charges when I noticed a clamp monkey walking the access road with clamp in hand. in the past I wouldn't have paid much heed but since discovering this board I'm now a little more sensitive.

I had plenty of time to spare so I walked over to said monkey, smiling all the time, and asked him 'can't pay or won't pay?'

'dunno mate. we've been told to step up the clamping in this area.
lotta people not buying tickets'.

'slap a charge on 'em' I said.

'nah. just means hassle going through the courts'.

ah, right.

so let's have a little guess at what's going on here; I wouldn't mind betting that this chimpanzee ( I was never any good at anthropology ) believes what his boss tells him re court (meteor operate this park) or he's trying to hoodwink me into believing.
meanwhile, his bosses are pushing hard and fast to squeeze every last drop of revenue before the curtain falls at some point next yr.

I giggled like a schoolgirl at a sugababes concert when he told me he'd 'never 'eard' of the imminent clamp ban.

looks like 'chimp' will be picking up his p45 sooner than he thinks!
