As of Monday the 2nd of October I will be a non smoker.

Options
I will and I mean it. I only smoke 3/4 a day but that is still way too many. It stinks and my house after three years of smoking is turning yellow (yuck) god knows how people smoke 20 or more a day. My DH will be carted outside to smoke as his healths gone so he doesn't see the point in stopping.
I watched casualty tonight and was nearly sick. I have had a sore throut for three weeks and seeing that scared the poop out of me. I grew up in a house full of smokers, chain smokers at that so in total I have 21 years of smoke on my lungs. I was 24 when I started smoking, so had 6 semi smoke free years OH was never allowed to smoke in the house back then. I guess the stress got to me and I used it for stress relief, but I don't want to die young or worse still have bits chopped off when they go bad. Cancer is my biggest nightmare.
Anyway am just posting here so that I have a reminder and can celebrate my first day, week, month. I know there are other threads but I wanted my own so I can easily chart my progress.

You will feel so much better for quitting - mentally and physically. Please try and encourage your DH to give up too (I'm sure you do anyway). It's not just the health aspect it is also the wealth side of things to.

My parents were both heavy smokers. I think of all the money they wasted when some days we were literally on the bone of our ar$es! My Mum always bought fags first with her housekeeping - she must have been smoking 40 to 60 a day. Thankfully my father gave up some years ago. The funny thing is though as a child I was always getting hideous chest infections - only years later did I twig that it was brought on by the smoking. To think they just kept on puffing away!

Do give up it is so important. Good luck to you!

    good luck BH.

Ive cut back dramatically from about 20 a day to erm hardly any although IM not giving UP, I am not smoking at the moment :o , I feel so much better. I saved 100 quid to my savings account at the start of the month, just so I can look at it :)

Best of luck to you x
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
