Hi there
I'm revisiting this to see if anyone has had to look under their floorboards to completely eradicate the smell and if so, how did you go about it? (Other than the obvious rip up the floorboards, did you replace the floorboards)?:(0 -
I run a doggy day care from home and have the occasional accident I use brown vinegar it takes the smell away but it does leave me with a damp smell. It may just be the floors its self as they are old but not sure xx0

Sorry to bump an old thread but I am about to get my late Dad's flat ready for going on the market soon and in the spare bedroom we have the issue of where his cat missed her litter tray.
I lifted the carpet and after reading this thread covered the corner in a paste of Bio washing powder. Not being able to go in for a few days afterwards came in today to find I had to literally chisel the paste off the floor! The smell has improved considerably and I have now put some Neutrodol on the area.
Will it be worth doing the paste thing again next week and can I expect the smell to be totally eradicated? If not if I just gloss paint that area of the floor when paining the woodwork will that holid in the lingering smell?0 -
Hi,
Our dog peed on our staircase and this was chipboard. I didn't want to use a wet solution particularly as I wasn't sure how easy it would be to dry. I used a large quantity of salt first as I thought this would dry it out but I didn't get rid of the smell.
I then used VanishGold powder. And it's gone!!! Hooray.
I left it for two ways. Make sure you cover it over it you have kids or pets
Good luck all!0
