Unsure if I can claim

I have had a credit card for many years with the Yorkshire Bank. Recently as a result of a SAR, I recalled that I once had PPI on my cards (sold originally as a necessity to me).
I cancelled the PPI back in Nov 2007 and can prove this as the bank had sent me statements going back to August 04 in response to the SAR.
I know if my loft somewhere I have a lot of old statements going back many years (have had the card over 20+ years) though doubt that I could gather all the statements over the period I have had the card.
The question is then, if I can provide only a few statements from each year I have had the card, would this be sufficient for me to attempt to pursue a reclaim for the entire period (from the date I took out the card to the date I cancelled the PPI)?

Hi there
If mis sold the ppi then give it a go on the reclaiming.
It may help if you do have the paperwork and you could then enclose "copies" with the questionnaire, this is what you use to make a reclaim, remember to keep copies of that as well and everything you receive.
Reclaiming questionnaire stage one of reclaiming here:

Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi. What reason did you give them for cancelling the PPI? How was it originally taken out with the card?I have had a credit card for many years with the Yorkshire Bank. Recently as a result of a SAR, I recalled that I once had PPI on my cards (sold originally as a necessity to me).

Hi there
I haven't told the bank I am going to claim the PPI back on the credit card. For a long time I did not even notice that I had it. In most cases the balance was really low so I would not have noticed it in the early days, only when the outstanding balances got higher did I notice the PPI.
When I took the card out I wasn't given any option re the PPI, just told I had to have it, so I did. We're talking somewhere back in the mid late 80's if I recall correctly.0 -
Blimey, some claim then and some memory too:eek:. Do you remember exactly how you took the card out and PPI? I doubt it was online then....???Hi there

No not on-line, I think the nearest i had to a PC back then was a BBC B Micro with 8kb of memory!! I was pretty young really, but I remember it well as I was the first person in my immediate family to get a credit card!
PPI was sold to me as the thing to have just in case I lost my job, but it was done in such a way as to make me think it was a requirement rather than an option.
Looks like I'll be digging though the loft for statements this weekend!:)0
