I purchased a tevion portable dvd player from Lidl, it went faulty after about 6 months, contacted manufacter as per the warranty instructions.

Sent back the faulty dvd, received a new one within about 2 weeks.

    Personally, couldn't really fault them.

For all the hassle involved contacting TS, contacting the Lidl store etc, would it not just be easier to contact the manufacturer and get it sorted direct? Would save a lot of time and hassle.

I had a similar experience except ours went wrong again a further year down the line (although it was being used daily by small children so a miracle it lasted that long really). The second time we returned it they couldn't fix it and didn't have a replacement so sent us a cheque for a full refund. A few weeks later the store were selling a similar product for the same price so we purchased that knowing that it might need fixing or replacing within three years, in fact I'd be quite happy if we got another full refund before the three years was up. That original £50 outlay could keep us in dvd players for the rest of our lives if they continue with the three year warranty. :rotfl:

I'm only posting because the first time it went wrong I had the same concerns as the original poster about going through the manufacturer.

    Uniform Washer
Silvercrest Grill/Mini Oven(2 yr guarantee) from Lidl last year (a marvelous little oven) died on me a month ago - rang DES Ltd.,as instructed in the Users Manual, advised to send copy of receipt, model number etc., and they would order me another. I could not find the receipt so emailed copy of entry in bank statement - they confirmed by return a replacement ordered. DES telephoned me the day before it was delivered by UPS - super service. Will always try and buy any new electricals from Lidl or Aldi because of the extra guarantee:rotfl:and excellent service.:T

  • Hi,
we had a medion computer which went faulty after 2.5 years. We contacted medion and had to send a copy of the receipt, a courier collected it and it was returned within a week. Excellent service, very pleased.
Another time with a coffee maker it went faulty, they took it in the store and refunded no problem. Maybe the manager was a jerk in your store? If there is another near by try that or indeed contact the manufacturer, in these days of email its no big deal. Good luck.

Same here. Had 1 problem with a computer, they collected it and repaired under the 3 year warranty.

Cannot see how the OP is having problems with them as they have been fine with me in the past.
Hi there! We’ve had to remove your signature. It was so good we removed it because we cannot think of one so good as you had and need to protect others from seeing such a great signature.

I've had 2 items, kettle and radio/cd player, both nearly 3 years old, replaced under Lidl 3 year guarantee using UK address from instruction manual. Did everything by email, sent scanned receipt, new versions received, no problems. The kettle finally expired, but the radio/cd player is still going strong and used every day.

I have just bought a glass kettle from Lidl. Price was £23. Has anyone any feedback re this product as it might be worth paying more for a more well known make.
