You beat me to it, Joyful! :T

I remember the first post this user made a year ago. At that time the outstanding balance was only £40 ish in total (after 4 years), whilst paying £13 -£20 bills.

Not sure how that suddenly in a year has now risen to a debt that requires paying off at a rate of £40 per month, especially in view of the advice I gave back then.

If you use very little gas then why do you have a debt? If its small amount just pay it and move on. If it is large and you get a prepayment meter fitted you will have to top up weekly to pay back the debt.

Have you ever had a payment plan?

That is a very good point - if you use so little gas, how come you have run up a debt? If you convert solely to electric, all you will be doing is inflating your electricity bill and you'll have two debts instead of just one. As previously advised, electric is far more expensive than gas in terms of heating your house and meal preparation. Also, OP also has not answered the questions on how they are going to pay their increased electricity costs when they fully convert over to electricity.

Also, not being nasty Kate, if we really have been of help an acknowledgement (see my signature strip) would be nice ;)
