Cheapest currently seems to be China Eastern via Shanghai, but they get poor reviews on airlinequality, so consider if you want to pay extra for a better airline.

If you want a stopover in say Bangkok, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore etc a travel agent such as www.trailfinders.com may have a flight+hotel price including a hotel in the stopover city.

  • Hi Hon,

We are going in Dec and found by far the cheapest flights we found were through STA travel. We are flying Cathay Pacific and their website (and Kayak etc) were quoting £1400 (it is Xmas) but with STA it was just over £1000 each so long as we booked some accomodation (lots of reasonably priced options) which we needed anyway.

That said l have been watching STA for a flight to Cape Twon and they are more expensive - luck of the draw but worth a call :0)

If you are using Kayak etc make sure you check various airports as it can quite dramatically change the price - also travel week days as opposed to weekends.
My post count doesn't reflect the amount of time spent on here :0) I just keep forgetting my login details - now saved.
