How long does it take to get the money from the DWP after you win an appeal?
It will be five weeks this week since I won and as yet I have received nothing from them, not even a letter.
I called nearly 2 weeks ago and they said they didn't have any notification but if I sent in the decision notice that would speed things up. I sent it in straight away but still nothing.

Hi,
Sounds similar to when I went through it earlier this year. My tribunal was won on in the first week of March and when I rang them up just over 3 weeks later they hadnt received notification - so I faxed over the letter confirming it. A week on and still no money so I rang them and they said it was on their desk, at the end of the week and a couple of phone calls later and it was still on their desk - I said I needed that money as my IS had stopped once the appeal was won. They eventually sent me out a couple of giros to be going on with. In all it was about 6 -7 weeks before I was up to date with the money and back to normal.
I would keep ringing them, tell them that you have had no money and that its ridiculous having to wait this length of time.
The reason for the first bit of delay was my file being transferred between departments and them working out how much I had received in the reduced rate of IS and what I would have got on IB and so working out how much backpayment they owed me.
Boy was I glad when I received it - paid off some of the overdraft and credit cards that had built up!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
I am still getting the reduced payments as I always receive IS and not IB.
I will give them a call later this week and see what they say.0 -
Ah right forgot bout that, I would have thought that it would still be a similar process - its probably a case of one department not knowing whats happening in the other!Weight Loss - 102lb0

Tribunal Service should send decision notice to DWP on day of hearing or if not possible as soon as reasonably practicable. If DWP did not receive decision notice why did they not contact Tribunal Service who could fax them a copy-Why inconvenience appellant (i.e. you- the person making appeal)? Many people on benefit cannot afford to make phone calls.I called nearly 2 weeks ago and they said they didn't have any notification but if I sent in the decision notice that would speed things up. I sent it in straight away but still nothing
Ring up DWP and speak to Customer Service and ask them reasons for delay and when you will receive benefit. Ask them to call you back. Ask them for targets they are expected to meet etc (these targets are things they aim to achieve)- Copy of Standards of Service you can expect etc0 -
Well I called them today and they said there is nothing on the system as to what is being done. Guy said the person dealing with my case wasn't in but he would find out tomorrow what is what and call me.
So we shall see........0 -
Keep on at them! I know it will probably tire you out - it did me when it happened to me! If they havent rung you back by lunchtime ring them again and say that you are due the money and are now really struggling.Weight Loss - 102lb0

Well for once someone did what they said theu would!!!! He called me and it wasn't even 9am!!! I wasn't exactly very awake but he is arranging for it to be paid into my account next pay day, so that is Tuesday. I was really awake enough to have a go at him about why it has taken till me phoning for them to do something.
Fingers crossed it goes in on Tuesday.0 -
I got a letter from them today stating what my payments will be now, so fingers crossed that means all the money will indeed be in my account tomorrow.0

Glad to hear it sounds like you are going to get sorted now - it will no doubt be a big relief for you and even more so when the backpayments go into your account?!Weight Loss - 102lb0
