It is just a cheque from paypal, it takes longer to clear than a normal paypal transaction and I think they are a pain in the bottom!!
all you have to do is wait a few days for it to clear.

yup! I would email the buyer explaining this as they may not have meant to send it in that format... just say something like: "received echeque, will post item when it has cleared.......

Remember not to post the item until the echeque clears. It seems that sometimes buyers don't even realize that they paid with an echeque and then keep on at the seller asking where their item is.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Woohoo! I'm normal! Gotta go tell the cat.0 -
That happened to me once as a buyer (I've also had it as a seller). I'd paid through Paypal as normal and nothing unusual came up on my screen, but then I saw it was showing as "pending" on my ebay page, and I found out it had gone through as an e-cheque for some unknown reason. It took over a week to clear! I have no idea what their purpose (as opposed to instant Paypal payments) is.0

maybe paypal spent your money over the weekend and needed to make it up (with our fees) so put your transaction through as an echeque!!
