Went to the petrol station this morning before work, was in abit of rush and just wanted abit of food because I didnt have any breakfast, so i got a orange juice and flapjack (no petrol) and paid on my card, a total of £2.55, and just said put the receipt in the bin its ok.
But just checked my Bank account online and I have been charged £13.56
Is there anyway of getting this money back, without having a receipt? I have done a print screen of the statement dont know if that helps
hope someone can help me
Kind Regards
Nick

You can dispute the transaction. However the receipt is in effect your proof. Dispute it anyway and see how far you get.I wonder why it is, that young men are always cautioned against bad girls. Anyone can handle a bad girl. It's the good girls men should be warned against.-David Niven0

You would not see the transaction straight away but just the amount, are you certain that you have nothing that is suppose to come out of your account.....0

Even with a receipt I think you might have problems.
You've obviously been charged for someone else's petrol. I wonder if they'd done a runner or just hadn't paid yet. And if they came to pay what did the garage do - charge them again or say it was already paid for.
Worth going and discussing it with them with the screen print and the card (that should identify you sufficiently). And keep an eye on the screen print in case they correct the error in course of the day.
But ultimately you are at the goodwill of the garage - are you a known regular there? If they say tough for that sort of amount there's not a lot you can do
Disputing the transaction is difficult - you DID authorise it albeit without checking0 -
Yep difficult to "dispute" I think - but perhaps the petrol station will be sympathetic. Frankly if someone went to the trouble to come back to shop to dispute such a relatively small amount, I'd probably just take their word for it.
Whether anyone actually has the discretion to make such a decision is another matter!0 -

Before entering your pin you check the transaction amount and then enter your pin which is your agreement to pay the charge in front of you.
Unless the garage are feeling extremely generous then you don't really have a leg to stand on.0 -
When I worked in a garage, if a customer queried a transaction we would gladly verify it. CCTV / back office computer will verify most likely what customer bought and we would generally refund if found to charge in error.
Fuel transactions can brought down (onto bill) by mistake or there may have been 11x drinks charged instead of 1 - silly mistakes not picked up straight away.
Call garage or go in and see them - the sooner the better.0 -
shell did this to me before, tried to charge me for a mobile topup, but I have all company contract mobile phones. They soon gave it back0
