  • Im super excited today as the debt is now officially in 3 digits!!! by £1 mind but still :):) going to sell everything I can to get it cleared by the end of the year!!

  • Saved around £200 today as follows:

    Partner ran out of fuel and her car started playing up, running rough as though it was running on 3 cylinders. Took it to a garage who diagnosed (cost £35) one of the coils had gone, they offered to replace all 4 for £270. Running out of fuel was a red-herring, the coil going was just a coincidence.

    I did some research, thanks to the Cars section of these forums, and managed to fix it myself.

    Cost to me, £20 for the coil, £17 for a Haynes manual and another £10 for some tools as my normal spanner set wouldn't get into the tiny space Renault left for amateurs like myself.

    I wont count this though as my partner would have had to pay for it but thought I'd share the story. I was quite wary about doing this job but it really was dead simple.
