Thanks Claire. That's fabulous news about selling your jewellery.....what pieces were they? Are you finding that you are getting a little bit of regular income from it, or is it still very much hit and miss?

YAY Ames....exciting afternoon for you then :)

I think I'm going to have to put off getting the car till tomorrow, I'm not feeling too good :( I've had a busy few days and just need to rest up I think.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
  • Nice necklace Claire.
Couldn't hang washing out here - it'd probably end up across the channel with this wind.
    Grandsons are coming here apparently.

I am having real problems getting my washing done at the moment...its raining and my dryer keeps switching itself off...so I wait for an hour and then its stopped itself after five mins....

If it's a condenser dryer, have you checked if the drawer the water collects in is full? That can make them shut off sometimes.

:rotfl: it is a condensor dryer but its the door, it keeps popping open so i have to stick the door shut with tape...sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I am too [STRIKE]mean[/STRIKE] skint to buy a new one but I think I am going to have to get a new one before winter really sets in.

I know other people manage without them but with OH working away and needing his washing done in one day then I would be stuck without it.

  • the problem with the door coming open happened to my parents machine - the door cache was broken, so for months we just stuck a full washbasket against it - something heavy so it couldnt pop open and it worked quite well

would it be cheaper to get the door fixed rather than buying a new one?

I've been lucky here one load of washing has already dried ojn the line today, just put another load out and another load in tghe machine. then its just a few coloured and school uniform left.

Can't seem to find anything that shuts it properly. Tape has been working so far but seems to be struggling now.
