I have sympathy for the o.p when he/she asks a question and gets some silly replies.
We enjoy sweet wine with various courses or with titbits at night and Tescos is a great source of offers for these.
Keep an eye on the half bottle offers (maybe grouped togather as dessert wines) and include of course various really nice Moscatel or Sauternes and also a Brown Bro's version (which I cant name as we drank all of it) all of these go on silly offers as low as £1.59 per btl (although these are 37.5cl bottles) and can normally show as £8, we may buy 20 bottles when on reduction as are quality wine.
Plus dont be afaid to try some Asti.I'd like to teach the World to sing in perfect Harmony:j

As moonrakerz pointed out the Gewurtztraminer won't be sweet so it's probably best if you don't go for that.
Sainsbury's do a Muscat in a half bottle for £4.48. It will be very sweet but with plenty of flavour. Great with desserts.

Or else get a medium-sweet or cream Sherry. They all come with replacable tops and the higher alcohol content (17%+) helps to preserve them. Here's an Oloroso for £5.43.

The Brown Bros wine is orange muscat and flora and it is lovely - not sickly sweet as it has a citrussy tang to it - unfortunately it is £5 ish for a half bottleIf you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!

Have you looked in the 1/3 size bottles section to see if there's anything you like?
I never finish a bottle either, but tbh it's cheaper to get the wine I like when it's on for three for £10 and let some go to waste than it is to buy separate little bottles.;)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

btw I find a lot of rose wines are a bit sweeter than a lot of white wines, might be worth experimenting.;)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Aldi sell half bottles of wine for around £1.50, never tried them but I'm sure they would be OK quality0

Its become slightly harder to find the sweet whites in sainsburys now as before they grouped the sweet wines or at least the desert ones on they're own but that may have been the first store i worked in0
