We're currently on a DMP with the CCCS and it's not looking good for us being able to meet our current monthly payment due next week.
Since starting out on our DMP it's caused constant rows as my OH feels he's working for nothing.
I'm not working as I'm on ESA so there's not much I can do at present.
I'm at my wits end. I just don't know how to tackle this or how the CCCS will view this either. Our DMP only started last December and to be honest is more than fair.
I'm in tears as I type so any help or advice would be appreciated. OH gone off to work and at the mo we're not on speaking terms.
Can't explain how low I feel.
Karen.

I know how you feel Karen. My husband and I were in a similar situation a few years back.
Now on the other side I can say to you that it does get easier. Have you tried seeing if you can cut back anywhere. Our DMP was estimated to give us a bit of emergency space in case the car broke etc, we were able to put at least £10-15 away each month.
Have you looked into the forum on increasing you income?

Also have you thought about trying to reclaim bank charges on account of severe hardship?

Thanks for your reply gemb.
Re increasing income I've done Ebay selling, car boots, daily clicks and surveys etc tho it does seem to get used up rather quickly.I've sold all my unwanted gold and, foolishly pawned some.
We had been putting away cash into an emergency fund but that has been used on our car just recently and so too have the other pots for home insurance and car insurance.
Our children are 5 and 6 and seem to be growing for fun and needing new stuff all the time. I do buy as cheap as poss where I can and to my mums' horror 2nd hand too. Our parents dont know of our problem and there's not a chance of telling them as coz they're getting on in years they'd worry like mad. To be honest it'd make our current situation even more stressful than it is already.
As for the bank charges which we never did try and claim back on before going onto our DMP is this still possible when the bank concerned is one of our creditors ?

I am not sure on that one. I think there is a thread or section on the MSE website about it. Maybe worth having a look.
Also I would recommend calling CCCS before next week. It may be that they can do something about it.
Have you got any other childrenin the family who could lend you clothes for your little ones as they grow? Might save you buying for a short time. I know my local children's centre has a bring and swap thing where you take in clothes that don't fit and swap for clothes that do. Lots of baby things but maybe bigger things are available.
How far off your payment are you?

:)Hiya,
I am new here myself so can not give much advice. Do you have any loans, could you make any ppi claims on, I am currently doing this. I have looked in the loan forum and lots of others doing it too and quite a few been successful.
Hang in there, easier said than done I know but it does get easier, not much help when you need easier now i know.Do I need this or just want it.
If you always do what you always do...You will get what you always get.

Hi,
Our payment is due on the Ist.
Have just been onto the CCCS board and have noticed that CCCS also take payments from some clients on the 10th which might be a help and give us a little breathing space.
Going to have a look on the bank charges forum too.
Will obviously be phoning the CCCS too. I just dont want to blow what we've achieved so far. Our DFD is 20 years away and it's already weighing heavily on my mind ( and no doubt my OH's )
Again thanks for your reply.

We haven't any loans with PPI. The last one we did have was taken out without.

I was under the impression that a DMP is flexible to a certain degree and why they are in a way better than an IVA. Can they reduce the payment for you somehow if you are struggling to meet what they have suggested? Circumstances change as if you get more money I am sure that they would increase the payment to get it down quicker can they do this the other way around?0

20 years for a DMP is an awfully long time. Is there a reason why an IVA wasn't more suitable for you?0

You mentioned you haven't told your parents. I know its the hardest thing to do, but seriously it will help. You will feel massive relief honestly as most of the stress comes from not being able to confide in someone. Sorry to hear your situation.0
