my laptop and tv both have vga and s video what lead do i need to display it on tv and where can i ger one - (pref cheapest)

You just need a S Vhs cable then. Such as this one.

But this will only transfer the pictures, you will need another set of wires for the sound, or you can just play the sound from the lap top.0 -

what would i need to do everything 2 cables? or would a vga one do0 -
VGA doesn not transfer audio I'm afraid, and as the reply said, S Video cannot transfer audio.
You will need to find out if your laptop has an audio out socket.0
