Ebay - Offered too much?

Now some of you may think that I should just accept this but I put a chest of drawers on for 99p thinking I might get £5, (I just want them gone really)

Now someone has offered £25 for them which I think is too much and they will be disappointed when they collect it. (they are quite lightweight but in good condition)

So do I just take the money and run, or say something???

What do you think??

  • Why not leave the listing running, write to them explaining why you feel they may be disappointed and suggest that they come to have a look.

They can always say no, and you still have the item listed.
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D
  • I have decided to go back and say £20, that way they might feel like they have a good deal.

No, if they want to pay £25 take it. Ask them to come & take a look at them before hand though, so they know what they're getting.

Why on earth would you ask them to pay less. If they want to pay £25 they think its worth it and you should let them

  • you can add photos/texts to point out the areas you think may cause disappointment to buyers.
If you don't and they find a surprise they may open a SNAD (even if you tell them and they go back and change their mind, as you won't be able to prove to eBay that they knew about it).
  • Take the £25... you've no idea why the want to spend this, but that's not your business.

For example, they may be someone house-sitting / staying at friends / living with parents who has damaged a chest of drawers identical to the one you're sellling and want to replace it without any questions being asked.

Like I say, who knows? It sounds like you've been honest and upfront in your listing, so accept the winning bid with good grace and wish the new owner well - Good karma :D
  • If you go back suggesting the item is worth less than their offer, they will probably think you are up to something.

Grab the offer - they obviously particularly want what you have on offer for some reason.

Every day, there are tons of worthless tat changing hands for good money on eBay!

  • The cheapest chest of drawers I found with a quick google was £25, from Asda.
If it does the job, £25 might not seem a lot!
