Car registered disabled?
Hi my sister in law has just bought a Peugeot 206 without any tax. When she went to get some at the post office they told her on the log book it shows that it is registered to a disabled driver and she would have to attend her local tax office to get it changed.
Is this right as she is now registering the car in her name and not claiming that she is disabled in any way. Thanks

Post Offices are not allowed to change the tax class of a vehicle, ie from 'Disabled' to PLG, Diesel Car or petrol Car. Therefore any applications to change the tax class have to be processed at a DVLA Local Office, the application can be posted, processed and returned the same day, unless she wants to use the car immediately, then she will have to que at the DVLA Office!:j0 -
