Changing uni course

My daughter is starting uni next month but wants to change her course ( still at the same uni). Admissions say the course she wants to do is full but she could switch after the first year. My question is, if she does this where will she stand with regard to student finance? She will end up doing 4 years instead of 3 so will she get funding for 4 years?
Any help much appreciated.

Wouldn't by switching she would go into the second year of the new degree she wants to do.
She would get funding for all four years. but seem a bit pointless doing one first year then doing another first year might as well defer and work for a year. If thats the case0 -
Thanks!
Not sure if I understand - she wants to switch from Politics to Law - would she be able to go into the second year of a Law degree without doing the first year?0 -

She'll have to speak to her university about that but it really does seem silly to spend a year doing a degree she doesn't want to do then transferring to the first year of another degree. She'd be better off taking a year off and getting some work experience.
She needs to speak to the admissions office of the courses she wants to do and see if it is a possibility to transfer from politics to law after the first year and how likely it is that she will be able to.0 -
She wouldn't be able to transfer into the second year of Law after doing a year of Politics. If she gets it in writing that the university is definitely offering her a place to do Law in a year's time, then a year off is the best way to go. An extra year adds quite a bit onto the debt, and Law is one of those degrees where the more relevant work experience you gather, the better the chances of being one of the ones that actually get a legal job after graduation.0

tell her to ask the department in 3 or 4 weeks time as loads of students drop out in the first few weeks and people swap courses all the time in the first few weeks:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one
