  • There was a big thing about some customers details being sold on by employees at tmobile so it may be that yours was one of them.

Tmobile customer services are not what they used to be (they have moved them all abroad) last time I rung them I landed up on the phone to an american who called me unreasonable as I wanted to change my number as i was receiving a large number of premium rate texts costing upwards of £1.50 a time.

I would ring customer services or go to a t mobile store and show them it and ask how it happened!

your not alone though i have just the past couple of days begun recieving texts supposedly from t mobile you can tell they arent them though even though the name says t mobile as they are full of broken english and bad grammar!
  • I get loads of spam texts but this is the 1st one with my full name on it.

Surely it must be highly illegal for Carefone to text me unsolicited though? !!!!!!!s

The information commissioner treats unsolicited text messages the same as unsolicited telephone calls.

Take it all the way where?

There are a thousand and one ways they could have got your number; one example is Phones 4U often get permission to copy your SIM card when you get a phone through them - they then call your contacts and try and sell to them.

You could have signed up to something online and forgot to tick the "don't share my info" box.

They may well have purchased your information from a legitimate source.

But what do you mean "take this all the way?". Take them to court? Write them a strongly worded letter? It's a text for fu*ks sake, just get over it.
