Kicker Boots - Advice Please

Can anyone please give advice on how the best way to tackle this issue as we will be approaching the shop at the weekend.
Purchased some Kicker Boots for son at the end of August 2010 for starting secondary school September 2010. Cost was £75 He has worn them just for school days since and today we have noticed the sole on the heal has worn so much holes (square holes) have appeared.
Our son is far from being heavy, l would estimate the walk each day to and from school is 1/2 mile each way.
Our daughter also wears Kickers, and she has had hers alot longer, in fact since 2009 and they show very little wear.
We have the receipt etc, if correct my understanding is that it would be the shop who we should approach, however are they obliged to provide us with a replacement pair.

Two points worthy of note...
1) in the first six months it is for the seller to prove that the goods do not have an inherent defect.
2) a repair, replacement or refund are all possible remedies.0 -
Many thanks, great link, feel alot more prepared now, will keep fingers crossed for Saturday when going back to shop.0

£75 for a pair of school shoes now that is scary. :eek:0

£75 for a pair of Kickers is scary, I 'only' pay £55 for my sons.
They do usually last a whole school year though, so it works cheaper than buying school type shoes that one of mine can get through in 3 months.
Are they Hi Kick boots OP? I've never had a problem with them.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Just to update...shop exchanged the Kickers without a fuss, although they did mention that should this next pair wear so quickly they wouldn't be able to exchange as they would need to be sent back to Kickers for investigation.0
